The Trench is Dug

We continued our setting out.

For us we had to use string a tape measure and pegs to accurately mark the position of the strip footing for the external and internal walls.

We had to be cognizant of the differences in the strip footing widths for the internal and external walls.

After the setting out was complete we had to do the penetration test in four different areas of the site using the penetrometer to obtain geotechnical engineering properties for soil within the confines of the site.

Right after we completed the penetration test the front-end loader/ digger dug the trench.

However, the diggers bucket was not wide enough, therefore, we had to go back in and remove the loose material inside the trenches together with widening the trench to the correct dimension with some of the material being placed in proximity for it to be used as back filling for the trench.
