The Difficult Start To The CEM Community Build

The first day of the Community build which was scheduled from the 5th to the 5th of September was met with some enthusiasm and some skepticism because for most of the group this was going to be their very first community build.

On this day the first task that was assigned to us was site clean-up.

This involved removing broken bricks and moving them to the rubble pile as there were no longer useful in the when building up the foundation brick work. This task proved to be more physically exhausting that mentally challenging. However, it put down our spirits and tested our strength to continue mentally until we decided as a team to work smarter which then made the task easier and led us to completing the task faster.

Day 1 was also the day we began doing the setting out of our site. The site clearance was already done for us before however we did not manage to finish this on the same day, so we had to continue the following day.
